Set me ablaze dear God, with your all consuming fire.
Give me an irrepressible passion,
Unquenchable and without tire.
Water my hardened heart with your lovesick tears.
Strip away my foolish pride,
So to your ways I may adhere.
Place a longing in my heart that will not go astray,
Less I forget the undone souls dying everyday.
Pour rivers of compassion through my dry and listless eyes;
Holding steadfast to your path, so as to never compromise.
Help my prayers be fervent, ever pressing deep,
Whether through valley or up mountain steep.
Purify this wretched vessel, purge me from all sin.
Gut me out of all the darkness hidden deep within.
Help me to be reckless, not caring how I’m viewed;
With a tongue aflame with words of power,
That come from only you.
And may my life be ever crucified upon that Calvary tree,
Surrendering all I have and am forever unto thee.
